Although this hotel may be reached by cable-car from Rapallo, we had the advantage of a hire car. A fascinating drive up the winding roads (not for the feint hearted) led us to this very special and tranquil place perched literally in the clouds. We arrived quite late but were greeted by the kindest staff who showed us to our basic but impeccably clean room. The view from the window was magnificent, looking down over the mountains to the stunning Portofino. The only sounds being the bell toll from the church and the odd rooster! We had a little snack of local meats and cheeses. Fantastic! Don't know if the staff spoke any English as we were trying our best with our Italian phrasebook! This is a real hidden gem for those who wish to escape everything.

Truly lovely. The location is great, just make sure to read the instructions on how to get there, as it is not intuitive. Gorgeous views, lovely little hikes and nature walks, and there is a wonderful outdoor bar at Hotel Pellegrino, on the other side of the Sanctuary. Also easy access to beaches at Rapallo, Santa Margherita, etc by car or probably by bus. The restaurant was excellent and everything was great value for money. We highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

As young families, we loved the friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond to accommodate our kids. The in-house restaurant served delicious Italian food, and the free limoncello offered by the hotel keeper was a nice touch. The location, although initially challenging to navigate, offered stunning views and was conveniently located near Rapallo, Portofino, and the ferries/railway to Cinque Terre.
Felt really good, no complaint.

The staff were lovely and very helpful despite the language barrier. The room was very neat and clean, large bathroom and lifts if needed between floors. It is a long drive up and a little hard to find initially but lovely and tranquil once you are there. Beautiful mountaina and ocean views. A pleasant surprise was the beautiful church behind it. If you can find overnight parking in Rapello it is a lot easier to catch the cable car up

The hotel was in a fantastic location really close to Portofino and the mountains, Rapallo and the Ligurian Sea, and the slope of a high hill overlooking Rapallo and the Ligurian Sea. The room was spotless and tasteful and the bathroom spotlessly clean.

We loved the location - beautifully set, high up in the mountains and aw ay from the crowds. The owners are delightful and couldn't do enough for us although their english was very limited we managed to communicate extremly well with many humurous incidents. The Cathedral at the end of the path was amazing and such beautiful bush walks. I would have no hesitation reccomending it as a place to stay ,
I don't think it would be suitable for an elderley couple as access is by bus or car on a very high, winding road or inclinator up the side of the hill. That would be the only minus.

Friendly staff, renovated rooms, spectacular views down the Ligurian coastline, free parking.
10 km driving quite narrow & winding road could be a challenge), however cable car station is just steps away from the hotel.

Beautiful view, nice personal, the breakfast was OK, the hotel is surrounded by woods, for everyone who seeks tranquility it is the perfect place.
The way up the mountain: if you like driving challanges it is fine, otherwise it can become a bit exhausting. But the element that makes this hotel unique is its location, so the 10 km drive from Rapallo is definatley worth it!

Not very easy to reach but absolutely stunning location and views! We stayed 4 nights and used the local bus (cheap) and once the funivia (more expensive) to go down to Rapallo and then further by train (like to Cinque terre), as the steep climb om the narrow road was not really inviting to drive up and down daily. Excellent food also!
